There are darker things going on with those secrets. The finger of guilt will point in almost all four directions before the truth comes out. The lives of the good guys are in the hands of the angels. The bad guys are wicked beyond imagination.
The dark secrets are buried in childhood memories. Kids are resilient. They can appear to forget until the lights of justice turn on.
What I like About The Madwoman of Preacher’s Cove
I always like this author’s lyrical writing. First off, the book is a pleasure to read. She manages to tell a very good story with no profanity, vulgarity or bodice-ripping erotica.
There is an element of mystery through to the end. Lucie is so mysterious as to almost be unsympathetic. All of that changes as the book progresses. There is light romance which adds to the believability of the characters. As the characters come into their own, one realizes that there are people out there who will take advantage of you. People who don’t mind hurting you.
While there are paranormal scenes, they are spiritual and angelic, not shape-shifting wolves or mutant ghouls.
